The name The White Room is derived from the historical name of the room ‘De Witte Zaal’, the name that was given to the restaurant when it first opened in 1885. The room is listed as a monument and is considered to be the oldest restaurant of Amsterdam in original condition. We are looking for a passionate and inspiring Maître for our Michelin star restaurant The White Room. In this position you will lead and motivate our White Room team together with Chef de Cuisine Tristan de Boer towards our goal of achieving the 2nd Michelin Star.
Your main responsibility is ensuring that our guests have an exceptional fine dining experience by providing great service with attentiveness and a personal touch. With our Sommelier and Chef, you are responsible for menu creation and beverage pairings.
Your main responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Restaurant the White Room*
- Welcome and greet guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring an extraordinary first impression
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu offerings, wine pairings, and any special features of the day
- Maintaining and creating good relationship with regular guests
- Handle guest feedback and concerns with tact and efficiency, striving for swift resolution and ensuring guest satisfaction
- Ability to manage budgets, analyze inventory, and monitor food and labor costs
- Stimulate profitability by up- and cross selling in the restaurant and through hotel resources
- Further develop and manage the beverage offering in the restaurant together with the Sommelier
- Assuring training and development of (new) team members based on LQA and service standards
- Pro-active in innovations and implementations together with the Chef de Cuisine
- Making sure to maintain and support the image of the restaurant within the (international) hospitality industry
